This study focuses on physical education homework as its core application scenario, exploring the effect of AI-enabled smart sports apps on improving students' physical fitness and athletic skills. The aim is to provide practical reference for the intelligent and personalized implementation of after-school physical education exercises in schools. Leveraging the advantages of AI technology in big data analysis, motion recognition, and intelligent algorithms, and combined with the convenient interactive features of apps, the study constructs an intelligent implementation system for physical education homework that integrates homework assignment, personalized guidance, real-time feedback, data tracking, and effect evaluation. This system can accurately collect students' basic athletic data and customize exclusive after-school exercise plans for different students' physical weaknesses and skill levels, achieving personalized design of physical education homework for each student. During exercise, AI's real-time monitoring and motion correction functions standardize students' athletic techniques and control exercise intensity and rhythm, effectively addressing the pain points of traditional physical education homework such as "difficult supervision, delayed feedback, and rough guidance." Simultaneously, through data tracking and visual feedback, the system continuously records students' training process and progress trajectory, dynamically optimizing homework plans and forming a closed-loop management system of "assignment-training-feedback-optimization." Practical results show that the application of AI-powered smart sports apps in physical education homework not only significantly improves students' core physical fitness indicators such as endurance, strength, and coordination, but also effectively promotes the standardization of their sports techniques and the improvement of their sports skills. Simultaneously, it stimulates students' enthusiasm for after-school exercise and cultivates independent exercise habits. This model breaks through the time and space limitations of traditional physical education homework, achieving precise and efficient guidance for after-school exercise, and providing a new path and method for improving students' all-round physical fitness and promoting the digital reform of campus sports.
